Tropical Storm Odette has formed a few miles offshore from the Northeast. And it will move away this weekend. Here's the latest track of Odette:
This system is expected to stay offshore into this weekend.Tropical Storm Odette has formed several hundred miles off the East Coast, but serious impacts are not anticipated., will remain just far enough off the coast to keep impacts to a minimum and Odette is moving away from the United States.
This storm will transition into a potent non-tropical low by Saturday night and is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to portions of Newfoundland Sunday.Much of the precipitation will be on the eastern side of this system, meaning that coastal areas will experience light or no rainfall, while heavier rain will remain over water. Winds may also increase a bit near the coast.
Be sure to heed any warnings if you are heading to the beach late this week or this weekend. Stay out of the water if rip currents are a concern. There is also an area in the eastern Atlantic that is expected to develop into a tropical depression or storm over the next few days.
