Tropical Storm Emily takes shape in the Atlantic, as storm activity starts to warm up

As the season is nearing its peak, the Atlantic Ocean has suddenly become very active with several storms that meteorologists and weather forecasters are watching.

Two of the main factors expected to influence storm activity this season are the ongoing El Niño climate pattern — which drives up global temperatures — and"record-warm Atlantic sea surface temperatures," Matthew Rosencrans, lead hurricane season outlook forecaster for NOAA's Climate Prediction Center,Rosencrans said that as the updated outlook calls for more activity, everyone should begin to take precautions now for the continuing season.
