Lizzie Kane joins the Chicago Tribune on Monday as a business reporter, focusing on affordable housing and residential real estate.
Kane recently concluded a fall internship on Bloomberg’s real estate team in New York City. Her main focus there was on the housing market, nationally and in Canada.Prior to that, Kane covered abortion in the wake of the Supreme Court’s overturning ofas a Pulliam Fellow with the Indianapolis Star. She wrote about eviction, especially as impacted by the pandemic, for the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She has also written editorials for the Dallas Morning News.
Her journalism career started as an intern reporting on Baltimore City with the Baltimore Brew, where she won three awards from the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association, including Best of Show in the “Immigration in Communities” news coverage category for
