"People up top, taking human rights away from everyone here … they're taking every single one away," he said.Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion chief executive Matilda Alexander told the ABC her organisation lodged a complaint with the state's human rights commission last month to draw attention to the indefinite detention and treatment of Adrian.Adrian's been held for years in solitary confinement without a release date. The public's never seen how he lives until now.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services confirmed in a statement that they were aware of QAI's complaint to the QHRC, saying the department was one of five named respondents."We are carefully considering all relevant recommendations made by the Disability Royal Commission and will publicly report on acceptance and implementation of the recommendations".
"If his behaviour escalates, staff cover the slot and drop a temporary opaque screen, removing all capacity for human contact," the report said. Shadow Minister for Disability Services John-Paul Langbroek said the FDS was still not operating as intended.
