The ministry of transport is studying a proposal for the setting up of a multi-storey driver training centre to tackle the issue of backlogged driving lesson applications in Kuala Lumpur, reported
“The proposal, complete with designs and a multi-storey structure concept, has been submitted to us. However, we are still in the process of evaluating the suitability of the location and the potential impact on the effectiveness of this project,” Hasbi said.This was in reply to Datuk Salehuddin Saidin who asked if the government would consider applications from driving institutes to operate in smaller areas or multi-storey buildings for training purposes.
Meanwhile, the government may consider providing incentives to driving institutes facing operational challenges such as increased costs. “We will discuss this with the relevant authorities, particularly the ministry of finance, to consider such incentives,” the deputy transport minister said.Open roads and closed circuits hold great allure for Mick Chan.
