PETALING JAYA: Delivery service Foodpanda has pledged to conduct health screening for its fleet of riders, including checking their body temperature daily according to the government's standard operating procedure (SOP), says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

"It's good to note that Foodpanda also offers insurance coverage for its 25,000 riders," he said on his Facebook on Tuesday . "Mostly due to a 'new norm' where people's spending habits have changed after a significant event like Covid-19," he said. On April 17, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that e-hailing companies must send their riders and drivers for health screening to ensure their health and safety as they are in constant contact with clients whenever dropping off deliveries or passengers.
