Transport Ministry data reveals 11pc rise in Klang Valley public transport usage in July, thanks to new coaches and shorter waiting times
Overall ridership numbers for buses and rail services have risen steadily by 11.8 per cent and 10.8 per cent respectively last month, reflecting a growing reliance on public transport. This is reflected by the notable increase in passenger numbers in both the Ampang and Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit lines, which saw a spike of 15.3 per cent for Kelana Jaya in July, the highest across the board, and 8.3 per cent for Ampang.
The MRT Kajang line saw an increase of 11.1 per cent in ridership, while the Putrajaya line climbed by 15.7 per cent in July.
