Maatsen is reportedly leaving Chelsea to join Aston Villa this summer transfer window. Aston Villa have sealed a deal worth about £35 million to sign Maatsen from the Blues, according to talkSPORT. The Dutch left-back spent the second half of the 2023-24 season at Borussia Dortmund.
I get why they are letting him go, £35-40 million, they've already got Marc Cucurella, they've got Ben Chilwell; they don't need another left-back. But he could end up being better than both,' Agbonlahor was quoted by talkSPORT. 'Young age of 22, we will bite their hands off. He's a player who's going to play every week, a six year deal, Aston Villa are going to start doing that as well with youngsters, getting them signed up long term.
