Toyota and Lexus will adopt the North American Charging Standard in 2025 and the port will be found on Toyota's upcoming three-row EV
The North American Charging Standard continues to solidify its dominance as Toyota and Lexus have become the latest automakers to embrace the Tesla-designed charging port. We’ll start seeing the port on vehicles in 2025, including on Toyota's three-row electric crossover that will be made in Kentucky. While the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ use the Combined Charging System , buyers won’t be forgotten. Quite the opposite as the brands will offer a CCS to NACS adaptor in 2025.
While most automakers had been using the Combined Charging System, Ford kicked off the shift to the North American Charging Standard in May. General Motors was quick to follow suit and now virtually every automaker has announced plans to embrace the standard including BMW, Honda, Mercedes, Fisker, Rivian, Nissan, Jaguar, and Volvo.
