Several recognizable real-world toys can be seen in Andy's bedroom in Toy Story - and some of them are only still on shelves because of the film.
Toys like Woody and Buzz Lightyear might have been created for Toy Story, but Andy's bedroom features several real-world items that children have been playing with for generations. This made the original 1995 film that explored a world where toys come to life when kids aren't looking nostalgic as well as entertaining.
9 Slinky Dog The Slinky is one of those toys that seem to never fall out of popularity, especially now that various fidget toys have become all the rage. They were first invented by accident in 1943 when an American naval engineer, Richard T. James, attempted to create a new type of spring. After the Slinky's success as a toy, new versions like the Slinky Dog was released in the 1950s. Before Woody's loyal companion, Slink, was featured in Toy Story, the toy had fallen out of popularity.
7 See N’ Say The See N' Say was an educational toy that came in several different models. The one seen briefly in Toy Story was among the most popular and featured a farmer on the spinning arrow and various farm animals around the edges. This specific Toy Story toy aimed to teach children the sounds of these animals since pulling the knob would make the arrow spin, select an animal, and emit the recorded sound.
4 Toddle Tots Little Tikes is one of the most easily recognized toy brands of all time, with or without its feature in the Toy Story movies. The company was founded in the 1970s by Thomas G. Murdough and originally produced fulls size outdoor play sets, such as their famous slides and sandboxes, as well as the "Crazy-Coupe" car. Over the years, they began manufacturing smaller toys, like the Toddle Tots seen in Andy's room in Toy Story.
