DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy said this initiative is a vital step towards national digitalization. Earlier in February, the agency named digital transformation as a “national priority.” ManilaBulletin

DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy said this initiative is a vital step towards national digitalization. Earlier in February, the agency named digital transformation as a “national priority.”

“President [Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.] has been saying: Our citizens have been engaging digitally with each other, but not with us. [T]hat is about to change. We will bring back digital engagement in the public sector to provide public service. [W]e are transforming government service into government as a service,” said Uy.

In line with this, "additional applications and updated digital systems" will be developed. This, according to DICT, is why government services will be much more accessible to businesses and the general public. DICT’s partner government agencies are as follows: Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Highways, Anti-Red Tape Authority, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Treasury, Home Development Mutual Fund, National Printing Office, Council for the Welfare of Children, Maritime Industry Authority, Philippine Commission on Women, Credit Information Corporation, and National Commission for Senior Citizens.
