Plotlogic CEO Andrew Job says it is a “tough time” to be a technology start-up company amid the inflation crisis and the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in the United States.
“You’re seeing lots of things happening in the tech space with layoffs,” he told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“In terms of the innovation space and the businesses that we’re creating today that require some capital to get going, are really the foundation of us maintaining a competitive advantage in the future. “Which is essentially why we believe the US government stepped in so quickly – the entire innovation ecosystem over there maintains their competitive advantage.
“There’s a huge pressure on maintaining some sovereign control over particular important technology, maintaining modern manufacturing advantage and also being able to provide the metals for clean transition. “So all those factors are super important, and if we ignore it now then in a few years’ time there is significantly negative consequences.”
