Tough rules on roadside parking after hundreds of complaints

The mayor of Pasir Gudang in Johor said illegally parked vehicles in neighborhoods had caused disharmony among residents.

The mayor of Pasir Gudang, Asman Shah Abd Rahman, at a meeting with city councillors about illegal roadside parking in residential neighbourhoods.

The mayor, Asman Shah Abd Rahman, said existing regulations are in place but the matter went viral following discussions called by the council on enforcing the regulations in a stricter manner. The problem had caused disharmony among residents. “The majority of the complaints were made by residents who have stopped speaking to their neighbours for years due to illegal roadside parking,” he said.
