Touch 'n Go has announced a 1% conversion fee for overseas transactions on its TnG eWallet platform, starting from April 25, 2024. This fee will be included in all payments made using TnG eWallet, making transactions more expensive for users.
Touch 'n Go has updated its FAQ page recently for TnG eWallet, with a notable addition that announces an additional fee for overseas transactions . Starting from 25 April 2024, the e-wallet platform will be charging a 1% conversion fee for overseas transactions .
This means that all your payments using TnG eWallet will be more expensive after that date, as the sum you pay will already include the new conversion fee. This is just the latest of the platform's new fees that have been added in recent times, with the previous one being a reload fee for those using credit cards.TnG eWallet allows Malaysian users to make QR code payments in several countries using China's AliPay+ platform.
For tourists coming to Malaysia, the AliPay+ network also supports QR code payments for several partner e-wallets. The supported e-wallets include China’s Alipay, Philippines’ HelloMoney, Mongolia’s Hipay, Macau’s MPay, Japan’s Naver Pay, South Korea’s Toss Pay, Thailand’s TrueMoney, and Hong Kong’s AlipayHK.
