NEWLY appointed Philippine national women’s coach Mark Torcaso will still remain coach of Western United FC, a professional football club in Australia.
“I am very confident that I will be able to balance these two roles extremely well, and 100%, and that we will able to continue the success of the Filipinas,” said Torcaso in a Zoom huddle with scribes. The 42-year-old Torcaso replaces Alen Stajcic three weeks after former stepped down from his coaching role at the end of the Philippines’ campaign in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.Their presence in the Philippine national squad gave Torcaso a glimpse of the development of women’s football in the country.
