Topex Robinson has been named as the new head coach of the De La Salle men’s basketball team, the school announced Thursday, Jan. 19.
Topex Robinson will fill in the shoes of Derrick Pumaren as new head coach of the De La Salle men’s basketball team.
“De La Salle University is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Christopher ‘Topex’ Robinson as head coach of the men’s basketball team effective today, Jan. 19, 2023,” the statement read. Robinson will fill in the shoes of Derrick Pumaren, who guided the Green Archers from 2020 until last year.Robinson will carry a wide experience in coaching a collegiate team after having mentored San Sebastian College in the NCAA from 2011 to 2014, and Lyceum, from 2015 to 2019.While coaching in the collegiate scene, he was also assistant for Phoenix Super LPG from 2017 to 2020 before being elevated as head coach in 2020 until the recent Commissioner’s Cup.
