Hollywood insiders are suggesting the real reason Tom Cruise skipped the Oscars was to avoid his ex-wife, despite Top Gun: Maverick earning six nominations.
Cruise was hailed for “saving Hollywood” after producing and starring in the film and refusing to sell it to streaming services in favour of a theatrical release that made over USD$1.5 billion.

The pair would go on to adopt two children and appear in a further two films together, Far and Away in 1992 and Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut in 1999.
