Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) reports strong financial results for FY2025, demonstrating commitment to economic stability, energy security, and community development through significant investments and CSR initiatives.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad ( TNB ) reaffirms its dedication to fostering economic stability and ensuring long-term energy security in Malaysia . The company is committed to providing reliable electricity supply to homes, businesses, and industries nationwide. For the financial year 2025 (FY2025), TNB has demonstrated robust financial performance, solidifying its capacity to generate long-term value for shareholders and the public. President and CEO of TNB , Datuk Ir.

Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan, emphasized that the company's priorities extend beyond financial achievements, focusing on impactful investments that strengthen the nation and deliver significant socio-economic benefits to the people. This commitment translates into tangible benefits for Malaysians as TNB, a key Government-Linked Company (GLC), continues to serve the nation. TNB's performance in FY2025 has allowed the company to declare an estimated dividend of RM3.1 billion to shareholders, with 60.7% of this amount being allocated to Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs). These include the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah), Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), and Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP). This dividend payment underscores TNB's ongoing commitment to returning value to its shareholders and, ultimately, to the public, as these funds benefit millions of Malaysians through savings and pensions. \Throughout 2025, TNB actively engaged in empowering communities across Malaysia, contributing over RM232.3 million through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These initiatives include support for students through Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and Yayasan Tenaga Nasional (YTN), contributing to the long-term human capital development of Malaysia. Specific examples of these initiatives include the Bantuan Persekolahan (RM4.2 million) programs like Ceria Ke Sekolah and Sekolah Angkat, benefiting over 17,500 students and 50 schools. Further community support initiatives encompassed comprehensive programs, such as Ihya’ Ramadan, Projek Mesra Rakyat, and disaster relief efforts, positively impacting over 140,000 individuals. Financial aid was provided to 24,500 beneficiaries, including support for non-governmental organizations and medical institutions, and support for energy cost savings and sustainability efforts in selected religious institutions. As part of its CSR commitment, TNB also contributed RM32.9 million in the form of business zakat to various zakat institutions across Malaysia. This comprehensive approach to community engagement showcases TNB’s dedication to supporting social welfare and contributing to the well-being of the Malaysian people. The strategic allocation of resources across education, community development, and charitable giving highlights TNB’s commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen. \Closing FY2025 with robust performance, TNB recorded a profit of RM4.8 billion supported by the positive impact of foreign exchange, mainly the appreciation of the Ringgit from RM4.471/USD in December 2024 to RM4.057/USD in December 2025. TNB has also maintained its commitment to modernizing and strengthening the grid, with an investment of RM12 billion in 2025 aimed at ensuring supply security, meeting growing demand, and executing energy transition projects. These efforts have yielded measurable improvements in customer experience, with the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) improving to 46.93 minutes. The company also sustained a high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) score of 9.0, its highest achievement to date, reflecting continuous efforts to improve service quality and customer experience. This year also saw the continuation of the Incentive-Based Regulation (IBR) framework under Regulatory Period 4 (RP4), which reflects a stable and forward-thinking regulatory environment. TNB appreciates the support of the Government and regulatory bodies for their support of sustainable industry growth. Further achievements include being awarded the Best Brand of the Year 2025-2026 at the World Branding Awards in Osaka. The company has expanded its global presence by securing a seven-year maintenance contract in Kuwait, as well as investments in Australia and the United Kingdom. As Malaysia accelerates its energy transition, TNB continues to play a vital role in supporting the government's objectives of enhancing regional energy cooperation and system resilience in the long term. This role is demonstrated through the signing of several cross-border agreements in 2025, including a Joint Development Agreement with SP Group and Singapore Energy Interconnections from Singapore to conduct a full feasibility study for a second electricity connection between Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. Also a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with State Grid Corporation of China, involving grid digitalization, advanced distribution technology, and modernization strategies
