New subscribers can get the Unifi Plus Box for free under three Unifi Home plans.
. For Unifi Lite or Streamyx users, the company said it is not recommended for them to take up the offer as high-speed broadband connection is needed for a good viewing experience on the Unifi Plus Box.
For best streaming quality, a minimum 5Mbps speed is recommended, according to the FAQ. The highest achievable speed for users under Unifi Lite plan is 8Mbps, based on information on a separateUnifi Plus Box comes with six pre-installed apps – dimsum, iflix, BBC Player, YuppTV, Viu and Fox + – and users may have to pay an extra monthly subscription fee to view content on these apps, depending on their subscribed Unifi TV plans.
Then it's also an additional RM10 for BBC Player , an additional fee from RM10 per month for YuppTV and an additional RM10 per month for Viu. As for iflix, users will get a freemium subscription, while Fox + is also being offered as an upcoming subscription service. The device has Chromecast built-in for users to cast shows from their mobile devices to the TV screen. Features like Google Assistant and access to 4K-quality content is available to users with compatible smart TVs.app, Unifi website, TMpoint outlets and authorised dealers nationwide.
