The appointment of Mr Olukoyede by President Muhammadu Buhari last week had stirred controversy as some said he was not qualified for the position.
Mr Tinubu’s request was contained in a letter read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, at the plenary on Tuesday.The appointment of Mr Olukoyede as EFCC chairman stirred controversy as many Nigerians questioned his qualification for the position.
PREMIUM TIMES also reported excludively that Mr Olukoyede did not meet the requirements set by the Act. Ibrahim Magu acted as chairman as his appointment by former President Muhammadu Buhari was not confirmed by the upper legislative chamber until he was removed from the position.
