Tindakan rampas jam Koleksi Pride Swatch tidak sah

KUALA LUMPUR: Mahkamah Tinggi di sini hari ini memutuskan bahawa tindakan pihak berkuasa merampas 172 jam tangan Koleksi Pride yang dikaitkan dengan golongan lesbian, gay, biseksual dan transgender tahun lalu adalah tidak sah.

Pada 24 Jun 2023, Swatch Malaysia selaku pemohon memfailkan semakan kehakiman atas alasan rampasan 172 jam tangan itu tidak sah kerana barangan itu bukan sebuah ‘penerbitan’ yang boleh dilarang dalam Akta Mesin Akta Mesin Cetak dan Penerbitan 1984. Pemohon juga mendakwa tindakan responden dilakukan atas motif politik yang tidak wajar. Pemohon mendakwa jam tangan yang disita tidak mempromosikan apa-apa gejala seksual, namun hanyalah ekspresi menyeronokkan mengenai keamanan dan cinta.
