Australian citizens in Lebanon are being urged to flee the nation as soon as possible as the Middle East conflict threatens to spill “horizontally”. More than 6500 Palestinians and 1400 Israelis have been killed in the conflict, but more than 15,000 Australians remain in nearby Lebanon despite the proximity of violence.
Greens senator Mehreen Faruqi continued her party’s call for the government to strengthen its language around Israel’s actions in the conflict, labelling its refusal to do so “completely untenable and disgraceful”.
