Fuziah Salleh says the Australian rare earths company should not delay or put up a 'show' to mislead the people.

The Lynas Corporation plant in Gebeng, Pahang, must send ‘water leached purification’ waste back to Australia before September.

Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh said the rare earths refinery should be clear about the stand of the energy, science, technology, environment and climate change ministry and not to raise other issues, including the need for research on the waste. “The ministry is clear in its directive that Lynas must send the waste to the country of origin, which is Australia.

She was commenting on a study by Lynas in its environmental impact assessment report which claimed the company had succeeded in developing two products using rare earth plant waste as a foundation material for roads and as solid waste disposal material and material for land restoration known as condisoil.
