NRL: The NRL 360 panel react to comments from Isaiah Papali'i about leaving the Tigers.
Benji Marshall is set to unleash his potential future Tigers halves pairing this weekend against the Warriors, with Latu Fainu named to partner Lachlan Galvin .
By comparison, Chanel Harris-Tavita and Te Maire Martin - the Warriors halves this weekend - have played 157 NRL matches. In Galvin and Fainu, contracted until 2026 and 2027 respectively, the Wests Tigers possess two of the finest young halves in the NRL, with Galvin particularly proving to be not only one of the NRL’s best young stars, but also one of its best halves this season.
If all goes well Fainu and Galvin will be the Tigers halves pairing in five or six years time, when they’ll still both incredibly only be in their mid-20s. Round 21 will be a challenge for most NRL halves, let alone a rookie, but their future won’t be decided by a single contest. Cobbo has recovered from the groin injury he picked up in the Origin decider but whether he is on the wing or at centre, his return is a welcome boost for a side who need to be near perfect over the next seven rounds to progress to the finals.
In what has so far been an underwhelming season for Brisbane, Mariner has been a shining light and one of the most consistent Broncos. If he is it will undoubtedly be a massive boost for Craig Bellamy’s side, who have fought their way to the top of the NRL despite their star No.6, who has been involved in 10 tries in seven games this season, spending a large portion of the year sidelined.
He may not play for long when injected off the bench, but Faalogo’s involvements summarise the term low impact, high involvement. But one must, leaving Craig Bellamy, a man who has made a career off making tough decisions, with another tough call to make. The Sharks will unveil a promising speedster at fullback this weekend in Liam Ison, who is replacing the suspended Will Kennedy.
