El tifón Koinu se dirigía el viernes hacia el sur de China y Hong Kong tras dejar vientos récord y un fallecido en Taiwán.
El meteoro perdía fuerza en su avance hacia el oeste a través del mar de la China Meridional, hacia la provincia china de Guangdong, dijo la agencia meteorológica del país. Se espera que se convierta en tormenta tropical el sábado por la mañana y que vire hacia el suroeste, pasando por las aguas frente a la costa suroriental de China el domingo.
El servicio de transbordadores quedó suspendido en algunas zonas de la provincia de Guangdong y la ciudad de Guangzhou canceló algunos vuelos y trenes. Koinu, que significa “cachorro' en japonés, descargó intensas lluvias y fuertes vientos en el sur y el centro de Taiwán el jueves, derribando árboles y causando daños en edificios.
