Three sailors have been rescued after their inflatable boat was attacked by sharks off Queensland's coast. They were attempting to sail from Vanuatu to Cairns on the nine-metre vessel when several sharks attacked the boat, damaging both hulls. It left the trio stranded more than 800 kilometres southeast of Cairns. A radio distress signal was sent out at 1:30am Wednesday, which was answered by a nearby ship off the coast of Rockhampton. The ship diverted course and rescued the sailors, who are expected to dock back in Brisbane on Thursday.
