Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng said the works involved Jalan Bukit Lima Timur and two other roads in Jalan Sentosa.
Speaking to reporters during an inspection at the work site, he said the total cost of the projects was RM600,000. Also present at the inspection was Gabungan Parti Sarawak candidate for the Lanang parliamentary seat Wong Ching Yong.Sibu Municipal Council has been tasked with the job. “Every time it rains, water rises up to a metre. It is very difficult for the residents to go in and out for school and work.“The drain is not included in the upgrading project, but we will liaise with Drainage and Irrigation Department to make sure water can be flushed out during the year-end rainy season,” said Chieng.
