JOHOR BARU: Three youths have been arrested by the police for performing dangerous motorcycle stunts while speeding on the Second Link here.
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the three are aged 17 to 22 and were found performing stunts on the expressway heading towards Gelang Patah.
“They were spotted during our routine patrol between 6pm on Saturday and 4am on Sunday to weed out traffic offenders in the area. “The three suspects were not only doing stunts while speeding, they were also weaving in and out of traffic, posing a danger to other road users,” he said on Sunday. The youths' motorcycles were also seized, he said, adding that the suspects will be investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless behaviour.
In addition, 16 summonses were issued to other individuals for various offences such as driving with expired licences and illegal modifications to their vehicles.
