Three Iranian clubs are reportedly interested in signing Johor Darul Ta’zim ( JDT ) footballer Arif Aiman Hanapi for the Persian Gulf Pro League . According to sources, one of the clubs is said to be offering a lucrative loan contract for the key Harimau Malaya player. It is understood that the club is willing to pay US$300,000 or approximately RM1.3 million for a six-month loan period.
“There are offers from several Iranian clubs, at least three clubs are very interested in bringing Arif Aiman to play there (in Iran). “The offers are not ordinary. One club offered US$300,000, if the money is close to one million more. But there are other clubs that also offer higher. “But it’s not easy to bring Arif Aiman because it needs the approval of JDT,” said the source. Previously, Arif Aiman’s name became a topic of conversation on social media after the 22-year-old player was linked with Iranian club Persepolis. Besides Persepolis, another club, Tractor FC, which is currently at the top of the Persian Gulf Pro League, has also been linked with Arif Aiman. “These Iranian clubs are interested because they are impressed with his agile performance with JDT in the ACLE (Asian Champions League Elite) and when he played in the Qatar Asian Cup, in January last year,” he explained. Based on Arif Aiman’s recent performance, the opportunity for JDT to release him is quite slim as his touch is very much needed by the Harimau Selatan squad, especially on the ACLE stage where he has already scored four goals, putting him among the top scorers so far.-UTUSA
