Thousands to Participate in Kavadi Procession in Kuala Lumpur

Preparations are underway for a large-scale Kavadi procession in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event will see an estimated 5,000 devotees carrying kavadis on a 6km route from Jalan Ungku Puan to Wadi Hana temple. A second procession involving a chariot will take place from Wadi Hana to Taman Ungku Puan. The temple is also preparing to serve food to around 50,000 people.

Temple president N. Shanmugam shared that preparations began ten days prior, with 100 to 300 devotees attending daily morning and evening prayer sessions.

He said about 5,000 devotees carrying kavadis would start their journey from the Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam temple at Jalan Ungku Puan around 10pm tonight . Another procession, involving the carrying of a chariot, is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday from the temple at Wadi Hana to Taman Ungku Puan.
