If you can’t binge-watch TV on your holidays, what’s the point of living? The Amazon Fire TV Cube comes to the rescue.

Heading out to the beach house the staff here at the Digital Life Labs have rented for our annual summer holiday, the first thing we’re going to pack won’t be sunscreen, it won’t be a hat, and it won’t be a UPF 50 rash top.

The way I see it, having the correct entertainment system in your holiday house is vastly more vital than avoiding skin cancer. If you can’t binge-watch TV on your holidays, what’s the point of living anyway? It’s a brilliant way of finding which of your many streaming services has the show you want to watch.

The Fire TV operating system is based on Android, and for this reason it’s possible to install Android apps you can’t find in Fire TV’s own app store, such as the aforementioned Foxtel apps, using a not-so-simple 55-step process that is well documented on the internet.Just search for “Why is Fire TV such a pain in the arse?” or, more fruitfully, “How to sideload APKs onto Fire TV”.

Our TV, an LG, is a bit old and sluggish by modern standards, and its voice control system is nowhere near as good as the one built into the Fire TV.Season Two Episode One”, and the Cube will figure out that the show is available only on Apple TV+, open the Apple TV+ app, and cue up the episode for you.

A problem with the Amazon Fire TV Cube is that it likes to take a holiday too and is prone to nodding off.
