“It just really seemed like it was meant to be,” says bride Sophia Dearborne of tracking down the dress of her dreams.
But to get her hands on her dream Loewe dress, she had to do more than just waltz into a Neiman Marcus. The dress, as it turned out, wasn’t even guaranteed to hit stores. Thankfully, Dearborne’s professional expertise came in handy when it came to securing her own wedding dress. “I called a contact I had at Loewe,” she says. “They weren’t even sure it was gonna go into production, which was heartbreaking. I kept harassing them until they were harassing production.
Although Dearborne and Griffin considered pushing their wedding, they eventually decided to keep their original date in June. “It seemed to me it wouldn’t be a huge deal to just carry on,” she says. “I wasn’t too precious about looking ‘perfect.’” But worried that the dress wouldn’t accommodate her six-month baby bump, Dearborne feared it wasn’t meant to be and began exploring other options. “I was heartbroken. I started looking at other dresses.
At the end of the day, she was able to pull off the easy, unfussy dress of her dreams. “The way it came together, it felt like kismet,” she says. “It just really seemed like it was meant to be.”
