It comes after a frightening crash during the weekend's Coke Zero 400.
As the car came to rest, audio between Preece’s crew chief , Chad Johnston, and spotter Andy Houston reveals just how frightening the situation was. Those guys are racing veterans. They know what wrecks look like. And they were legitimately frightened their guy was badly hurt.
They then talk about the contact that was made and the crash which leads them into how the car took flight.“They’re going to kill somebody at one of these places,” he added. However, Daytona, in particular, has seen cars go into the air in recent years despite efforts to keep them grounded in such incidents.
