New York Jets coach Robert Saleh gave an update on several key injured players Tuesday, before Saturday's preseason finale against the New York Giants.
The Jets got more good news regarding who is ready to return for Saturday’s game, including both of their starting guards. Alijah Vera-Tucker and Laken Tomlinson are both expected to play in front of Rodgers this weekend.
Edge rusher Carl Lawson is still not ready to return after missing the past two weeks with a back injury. Saleh said the Jets are being cautious with Lawson and focusing on him being ready for the start of the season. “Ultimately, he’ll [share] his thoughts, too,” Saleh said. “But for us as an organization, he’s new. I know he’s been in the league a very long time, but just didn’t want Sept. 11 to be the first time he stepped into MetLife Stadium. The Giants and Jets game, whether it’s preseason or regular season, it’s [a] good turnout. There’s going to be a lot of anticipation and excitement in the building.
