Terrance Grant, 39, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for strict liability for drug-induced death, a charge used to prosecute people who provide drugs that cause fatal overdoses.

Terrance Grant, 39, of the Sicklerville section of Gloucester Township, was sentenced Sept. 9 — three years after he provided the drugs that killed Shane LaRocca, of Clementon, according to court records., a first-degree offense that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in state prison. The charge was first created in the 1980s during the surge in crack cocaine deaths to prosecute dealers.
