But Christie also wrote another rail-themed novel starring her famous fictional Detective Poirot,At the time, the Blue Train was a luxury French rail trip running the entire breadth of France, North to South, from Calais on the English Channel to the Riviera.

The mystery will start at the historic Train Bleu restaurant at Gare de Lyon station in Paris where the rules will be explained.
Ariodante is not kidding when they describe the trip as luxurious. As much thought has gone into the menu as the mystery, and all throughout the day a series of era-inspired gastronomic experiences will be served, including a Parisian breakfast, Burgundian lunch with paired wines, afternoon tea and dinner. To celebrate the revelation of the murderer and solving of the crime, guests will enjoy a champagne reception accompanied by live jazz.
The VIP package skimps on nothing and includes pre-trip accommodations at the legendary Hotel de Crillon in Paris and post-trip at the Westminster Hotel & Spa in Nice, plus a slate of extras, from private chauffeur for a day of exploring Paris to station transfers in a vintage Twenties luxury car to set the mood to a costume experience in a private session with a well-known French cinema and theater costume designer for a personalized fitting.
Prices are quite high, but guest also get bragging rights to having ridden a famous train no one else has, if successful, Ariodante is planning a total of three murder mystery events on the Orient Express in 2020, with plans to continue into 2021. Besides this first one in January, they plan to run one date in the Spring and another in Summer.
