Team Camila singers Andrew Igbokidi and Zach Newbould tugged at the heartstrings with their emotional rendition ofNewbould’s unique tone caught the attention of coach“Your voice really shined,” Stefani told the 19-year-old singer. “It was like an alternative-sounding voice in a pop song. I like the contrast of that.”
While nerves got the best of Igbokidi, Cabello was pleased that the 22-year-old didn’t let this anxiety derail his performance. “I was so happy when I saw you dancing and having fun,” Cabello said. “You have this incredible talent, but your hypercriticism of yourself is keeping you from accessing the freedom and the fun to go to that next level.”
Igbokidi’s undeniable talent inspired Cabello to take another chance on the Arkansas singer and choose him as the battle’s winner. “Andrew’s voice and tone is so special. I don’t think that there’s any voice like his on the show,” Cabello said. “I don’t think he knows how good he is, and I just want to pull that confidence out of him.”
