Do not expect to see the usual trimmings, or even a turkey, in “The Thanksgiving Play,” a rambunctiously funny if overstretched comedy by Larissa FastHorse at Broadway’s Hayes Theater, in a spiffy Second Stage production.
The play depicts an early rehearsal—or rather the attempted concoction—of a Thanksgiving-themed entertainment for elementary-school children. Gathered in a high-school classroom in an unnamed city are the director, Logan, played with her usual savory comic panache by two-time Tony winner Katie Finneran, and three actors.
