Series creator Jenny Han gives her take.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary The Summer I Turned Pretty creator Jenny Han reveals how one scene explains Belly's choice between Conrad and Jeremiah at the end of season 2. The hit Prime Video show, which is based on creator Jenny Han's novel trilogy of the same name, tells the story of Isabel "Belly" Conklin and what happens once she finds herself in a love triangle with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah .
During a post-finale interview with Entertainment Weekly, Han spoke about Belly choosing Jeremiah and moving on from Conrad in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 finale. Han, who developed the series with Sarah Kucserka, points to one scene from a recent episode that underlines Belly's decision to choose Jeremiah over Conrad. Han's quote is below:
I was very happy with how the season ended. We see it in episode 6 at the party when Belly is drunk on the beach and she's talking to Conrad, she tells him how much she would've fought for that relationship, how much it meant to her, and he just doesn't seem to be able to articulate to her that same sense of urgency and that same idea that he would've fought for them.
