Garcia: The same governor who champions the ‘sanctity of life’ wants migrant babies to starve

I’ve seen special sessions that I thought would never end.
Citing the current shortage of baby formula in this country’s retail outlets, Abbott blasted President Joe Biden’s administration for providing food to migrant infants being detained at U.S. facilities. We all remember the run on toilet paper during that period. We tend to forget the lack of baby formula.
Let’s put aside the legal requirement that migrant babies be fed while in U.S. custody. Let’s focus for a second on the human dimensions of this issue. The governor’s spokeswoman, Ciara Matthews, said the new rule “affirms the value and dignity of all life.”A year ago this month, during a signing ceremony for a state law empowering private citizens to sue anyone who helps a woman get an abortion after cardiac activity is detected in the fetus, Abbott said, “Our creator endowed us with the right to life.”Apparently, Abbott has concluded our creator didn’t care so much about the right to life when it comes to migrant babies.
