King Charles has a relationship with one of the passengers, Shahzada Dawood.
As the internet remains riveted by the missing submersible near the wreck of the Titanic, there's one world leader who is definitely paying close attention: King Charles.
Two of the five passengers on board the sub are Shahzada Dawood and his son Salaiman. Dawood, a British Pakistani businessman, is a longtime supporter of King Charles's charityunderstands King Charles has been asked to be kept fully up to date on the situation, and that his thoughts and prayers are with the Dawood family and everyone involved in this incident and the attempted recovery.
"Prince’s Trust International has a longstanding relationship with Shahzada Dawood and his family," Prince's Trust CEO Will Straw said in a statement. "We are shocked by this awful news, praying for a rescue and sending our thoughts to his family during this deeply challenging time." The British Asian Trust, too, released a statement about the Dawoods, saying, "The British Asian Trust is devastated by the terrible news that Shahzada Dawood, one of our supporters, is on board the missing submarine that set off to see the wreck of the Titanic. He is with his son Suleman. Shahzada has been a longstanding supporter of the British Asian Trust and our work across South Asia. Our heartfelt thoughts are with family and friends in the UK and Pakistan.
