It is unfair to focus all the blame on CEO Alan Joyce for trashing the once great Qantas brand. He has, but the board employed him, the board paid him tens of millions to do the job. The warning signs of declining service, customer dissatisfaction, price gouging , appalling employment practices and an ageing fleet have been there for years before the pandemic while the board chose to look the other way.
