A labor dispute and qualifying qualms have come up ahead of Thursday's debate.
How did candidates qualify for the next Democratic debate?the same two criteria it has in previous debate qualifiers: a polling threshold and a grassroots fundraising threshold. Candidates had to meet both thresholds stipulated by the DNC, and, as in the previous debates, the numeric values of these thresholds increased from prior installments.
, candidates needed either 4% or greater support in at least four DNC-approved polls, either national polls or single-state polls in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and/or Nevada. Alternately, candidates could qualify with 6% or greater support in two DNC-approved single-state polls in those four early voting states. The deadline for these polling requirements was a minute before midnight on Thursday, December 12.
