Toyota has given the full-size truck big upgrades including a long roster of standard driver assist and safety tech, new looks and power improvements.
The next-generation 2022 Toyota Tundra improves upon its predecessor in nearly every way. This long-awaited update delivers buyers a Tacoma-like body style, powerful engine options, added creature comforts, and an abundance of high-tech features.
Toyota will sell the Tundra in the buyer's choice of two different four-door layouts and three bed lengths. A 5.5-, 6.5- and an 8.1-foot bed are available. DoubleCab models are available with the larger two options while Tundra CrewMax trucks are available with the smaller two. Two- and four-wheel drive versions of the Tundra will be available to customers. Those with 4x4 will comes with Multi-Terran Select drive mode settings. Crawl and downhill assist control limit the truck's speed and allow the driver to focus on steering.
Drivers can take advantage of Trailer Back Guidance and Straight Path Assist technology that work together to ensure that the Tundra and its trailer stay centered in the driving lane. Blind spot monitoring technology takes into consideration the truck as well as any trailer.The base power plant in the 2022 Tundra is a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. That's better than the 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque that the 5.
