An Olmos Park mansion once owned by the late San Antonio socialite Louise Straus was listed late last month for just under $2.5 million, county records show.
Straus, who died last year at age 99, was involved in organizations ranging from the Battle of Flowers Association and the San Antonio Symphony to the Friends of the McNay and the San Antonio Art League. She also served on the board of the University of the Incarnate Word.
A couple snapped up the property several months after Straus' passing, but it's back on the market for around $400,000 less than its 2022 listing price. The 3,800-square-foot home is tucked into an acre lot surrounded by heritage oaks, according to its property listing. The interior features hardwood floors, Saltillo tile and a"soaring wood-accented ceiling" that evokes an"elegant and welcoming atmosphere," the description also notes.
Beyond its three bedrooms and two and half baths, the residence incudes a 900-square-foot covered and climate-controlled patio designed for taking it the estate's serenity year-round.Apparently, it's not just pricy to secure prime downtown living quarters in San Antonio.
