TheFlash is coming to an end with season 9, but showrunner Eric Wallace reveals what he had planned for season 10 - including a crossover featuring the Arrowverse's Justice League, which would've paid off the Crisis on Infinite Earths ending

The Flash season 10 would have paid off the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths Justice League tease, reveals showrunner Eric Wallace. The Flash season 9 is set to conclude the DC series, with main star Grant Gustin going back for one last 13-episode run. However, there were once plans for The Flash to continue with a season 10, which would have featured a couple of huge crossover events and the fully realized Arrowverse Justice League.

Speaking with The Nerds of Color, Wallace disclosed his original groundbreaking plans for The Flash's ending. If the DC series had not been cut off at season 9, The Flash would have featured the Arrowverse Justice League fighting Despero. The show also had plans to adapt the iconic DC Comics event The Blackest Night and to feature an original crossover called The Forever War.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY I wanted to do a full on crossover with as many characters as possible. The Blackest Night storyline that we started hinting at last year with Diggle and the box. So yeah, it kind of bums me out that we’re not going to do that. I wanted to bring Despero with his alien friends and have a full on alien invasion. That would have featured the Justice League at the Hall of Justice coming in and helping Barry.

Sadly, the Arrowverse Justice League will not join forces to fight off an alien invasion in The Flash season 9. However, that does not mean beloved characters from the Arrowverse are going to be absent from the season. The Flash will include the return of several characters, such as Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen, Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West and David Ramsey's John Diggle.

Another interesting event was dropped alongside The Flash's exciting season 10 plans, an original crossover storyline called The Forever War. According to Wallace, it would have been The Flash's season 10 opener, including as many Arrowverse heroes as possible.
