Event Horizon’s upcoming show can finally answer a long-term mystery from the movie and should do so to be a success. Despite its lack of commercial success in the theater, Event Horizon developed a cult following once released on video and contains its fair share of mysteries. Part of the film's horror is its use of the unknown and the terror of seeing the horrible results of an enigmatic entity without ever seeing it. Event Horizon itself used these mysteries to wrap up its story.

But upon arrival, Miller and his crew discover that the ship’s gravity drive pulled the former ship and her crew into a hell dimension, leading to their deaths and the ship gaining sentience.
Why Amazon's Event Horizon Plot Will Have To Explain Miller's Fate Even more so than providing closure on the mystery of Miller’s fate to satisfy fans, the Event Horizon show will need to explore his whereabouts for several reasons.
As well as this, not exploring what happened to Miller in the film would be a waste of a strong plot hook for the series. The original movie was initially a rescue mission, and if the series then staged a rescue for Miller, it would be the perfect way to set up the new cast of characters.
