Spoetzl Brewery, located in Shiner, Texas, and known for brewing Shiner Bock, opened its new onsite distillery, the K. Spoetzl Distilling Company, that will sell Vodka, Gin and Moonshine, also known as 'Shiner Shine.'

Spoetzl Brewery's Director of Brewery and Distillery Tom Fiorenzi said in a news release,"great beer is the basis for great spirits." The distilling process involves some of the same techniques and mechanisms the brewery's founder Kosmos Spoetzel designed, including a collection vessel copper grant. "The copper from Kosmos' grant refines the batch prior to its introduction to the still," said Spoetzl Distillery Manager Jessica Michalec."From there, each batch receives the same care and attention from our distilleries that our brewers would apply to our craft beers."Guests can tour the distillery and sample spirits seven days a week. Bottles of spirits are available for purchase exclusively from the distillery.
