Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's story lampoons numerous aspects of superhero comics, with many of the story's characters modeled after famous heroes. As one half of the Big Two, DC Comics are skewered with a collection of some truly reprehensible parodies.
14 The Seven The Seven is a Justice League parody, and in The Boys’ universe, membership on the team is seen as the greatest achievement possible for a Supe. Unfortunately, the team is aware of this, and they often dangle the possibility of joining over other heroes. However, they rarely change their rigid lineup, an insult to the real League, who actually do switch up their membership quite frequently.
11 Jimmy the One The Boys has a few Nightwing parodies, but none more insulting than Jimmy the One. Jimmy the One is a former teen hero who aged out of his demographic and Vought-American just can't seem to find a suitable place for him. Unlike the lovable and friendly Dick Grayson, Jimmy the One is a gross and misogynistic Supe, using his girlfriend, the Starlike, as a weapon, rarely treating her as a person.
8 Jack from Jupiter Jack from Jupiter is a parody of the Justice League’s Martian Manhunter. Unlike the diligent and amiable Martian, Jack isn’t even an alien, but his real sins are his horrid personality. Jack is just as callous to regular people as his teammates, on top of being racist and homophobic. He’s also a hedonist and spends much of his free time chasing the pleasures of the flesh.
5 A-Train A-Train is the second and most prominently featured speedster in The Boys. In fact, he kicks off the story’s main events after he kills Hughie’s girlfriend Robin in a battle with a rogue Supe. Though chalked up to an accident, a recording procured by Butcher reveals that A-Train thought the incident was funny. He’s also a sex criminal and forced himself on Starlight during her first day on the Seven.
