Whilst many of us are working from home during the current lockdown, sofa’s, kitchen tables and makeshift desks have become our new office. Gym memberships have been frozen, classes are put on hold and it’s up to us individually to motivate ourselves to keep active and mobile. That means putting off exercise is easier than it’s ever been.

They don’t take up too much time, and work on different elements of the body, so that by the end of the working day, you can enjoy that TV binge knowing you’ve been active and invigorated your body.First thing in the morning, it is best to keep it short and sweet - so a 7-minute workout is a perfect way to kickstart your day!

Here’s why: When we walk, we engage all our joints from our shoulders all the way down to our ankles, this means all the muscles in our body are working with every single stride we take. Walking also means that you step away from everything, so it gives you time to refresh your mind and is brilliant for getting your creative juices flowing.

If you are at a desk, then stand up and do light mobility moves. Circle your arms around, drop down and do toe taps and add in big dynamic moving stretches. You can do this for only 5 minutes and feel instantly refreshed for the rest of the afternoon.
